AG Garland calls for strengthened policies related to Congressional documents

Attorney General Merrick Garland called for the DOJ to “evaluate and strengthen” its policies related to obtaining records of the Legislative branch. The statement comes amid an ongoing investigation into 2018 subpoenas for certain Congressional communication records and follows reports that top DOJ national security official John Demers plans to step down.
