38 anti-coup protesters killed in Myanmar

Security forces in Myanmar killed at least 38 anti-coup protesters yesterday, marking the deadliest day of military crackdowns since the coup began in February (and following the death of 18 protesters on Sunday). The ongoing violence has drawn widespread international condemnation (including US sanctions), and the UN Security Council is expected to discuss the ongoing situation tomorrow.
